Making Precision Medicine Practical and Accessible in the clinical setting: A case study of implementation and Utilization of the Columbia Solid Tumor Panel
Abstract
In this two-part talk, Dr. Gang Song CEO of Pillar Biosciences, will introduce Pillar’s single-tube amplification technology SLIMamp. The SLIMamp technology enables a streamlined NGS workflow, which has been incorporated into a suite of NGS panels that Pillar is now developing into in-vitro diagnostics. Following the introduction by Dr. Song, Dr. Subit Barua, a postdoctoral researcher in Helen Fernandes’ lab at Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC), will discuss the Columbia Solid Tumor Panel (CSTP), a New-York state approved NGS panel that utilizes SLIMamp Technology. Dr. Barua will discuss what criteria the CUMC team used to select a new solid tumor panel as well as the performance of the SLIMamp-based CSTP. Dr. Barua will also explore the patient care benefits of the CSTP, demonstrating how SLIMamp technology helps achieve Pillar Bioscience’s mission of making precision medicine practical.
